Wet Ape Helps Develop Canadian Beach Volleyball Through Western Swing
Wet Ape believes the idea of reviving a national beach volleyball tour is not a radical notion. If athletes, event organizers, and fans all work together we can all facilitate positive, sustainable growth in beach volleyball through the eventual initiation and establishment of a national tour. The Western Swing is the beginning of this movement. It’s a combined effort of Volleyball BC, Alberta Volleyball, and Wet Ape.
In 2011 the Western Swing will consist of 4 major tournaments in a row across BC and Alberta throughout July and there will be $35,000 to $40,000 in prize pool across the 4 events. This is a great opportunity for athletes to compete against some of the top teams in the country, win prize money, and travel to some amazing locations within a three and half week period.
Please check out the new Canadian Beach Tour site for all the information on the Western Swing. The site will feature all of the top tournaments, as well as top beach athletes in the country. It’s an interactive experience so get involved, add pics, tournaments, player profiles, and join the social networks…

The goal of the site is to provide a platform for the Canadian beach volleyball community to develop and promote tournaments and athletes. The idea is for the provincial associations and individual promoters to work together on the scheduling and promoting of the top events in the country. There are many ways that you can get involved and support this movement. Please contact us through the site if you’re interest in helping out.
